Wow!
Well, I’ve got to tell you guys, I really put myself under pressure for this particular ‘weigh in’. What was I thinking? Yeah Paul, great idea. Why not ask all your blog and fb friends to guess-timate a pounds down figure, by looking at a couple of photographs one month apart.
We’ve all experienced that awkward moment when a prospective new girlfriend, a friend, a friend of a friend, a colleague, the boss or a perfect stranger, asks us to guess their age. “Go on,” they say, “I won’t be offended, honest.” Yeah right.
Well this was kind of a variation on that theme, only this time, your guess wasn’t going to offend me, no, it was going to scare the living daylights out of me! Nearly all of you guessed a drop in excess of 10 lbs. Ten pounds! As the comments came in I was getting more and more fearful. What if the camera angle on the August picture is just flattering? Cr*p, I’m wearing a black shirt, obviously, I look thinner *Doh!*
Calm down Paulie baby, I though. This is all good. Look, you know you’ve lost something, that’s all that matters. Your target for August was 7 lbs. Hit that and you’ve hit your target. Chill.
I couldn’t sleep last night (how sad is that haha). My head was buzzing. Last chance workout tomorrow big boy. A big cardio session and get weighed.
The session ended up being the best (machine) calorie burn I’ve had all month
My tee shirt was soaking wet
I had a final look in the mirror
Then, it was a shower (don’t worry no naked pictures) and off to see Brenda Turnley from Active Sefton for my monthly appointment with ‘the scales from hell’.
Here goes…
A little bit of blurb I want to say every time I post a new weight
✤✤✤✤✤✤✤✤✤✤✤
Weight loss is not my focus. I repeat, in big letters so that you hear me loud and clear – WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT MY FOCUS !!!!!!!
A ‘healthier’ lifestyle is what I’m striving for and I refuse to be distracted by, or more importantly, discouraged by, ‘The Scales From Hell’. Scales are of the devil. They make you feel good for a little while, but all of a sudden they can turn against you and laugh in your face whilst you despair. Use sparingly and as a guide ONLY!!!

The only thing I forgot to do, was take a photo of the readout, what a complete wazack.
Adios amigos,

WOW!!! Weight loss may not be your main focus but it certainly is an indicator of your increased health and accomplishments!!!
Cheering you on from here! Way to GO!!!
Thanks Callie. I feel so much more healthier and I am really enjoying achieving goals and hitting some targets 🙂
Thanks for the support and encouragement.
So amazing! You’re about to be under 300!!! (Not that that’s your main focus or anything). 🙂
I know!!!!!!!
Under 300 lbs, I can’t believe that actually (by God’s grace) getting under 300 IS going to happen. I’ve set my next target at 299.
We can do this!!!
Haha, Awesome!
Thanks Mark. To use an Americanism (at least I think it is) – I’m So Stoked!

Sweatie tees is how I roll brother haha. We can do this.

Thanks Carol. If I’m sweating I KNOW I’m making things happen!
So happy right now.
Great results, Paul! Keep it up.
Any winners with the exact amount? I know I was close with 15 pounds, but I never was a certified “guesstimator” operating my magic on the boardwalks at the shore.
Thanks Keith. No, nobody hit is straight on, but, you and a few others were right there. You obviously have a keen eye 🙂
Thanks for the support. comments and feedback really help as I’m sure you can second!
I’m looking forward to day 2 of 100PUC tomorrow. I’m going to suggest that all us guys who are doing it, should video ourselves for the last session in week six when we pull (or push) it off. What say you? 😀
I have been toying with the idea of a video, but I’m not sure if it it would be too interesting to see. We still have time to decide.
The comments and feedback do help.

You’ll have to settle for the self satisfaction of knowing you are ‘da main man’ 🙂
Well done you 🙂 You are doing something that a lot of people think is impossible. Now everyone can see the evidence of hard work and determination.
Thanks Lu. I hope so. There are a tremendous amount of people who feel exactly the same way I felt four or five months a go, like life is over and their case is hopeless. Their lives ARE NOT over. There IS hope.
Thanks for the encouragement and support.
Amazing!! That’s got to feel great!! 86 lbs is quite an accomplishment. Well done!
Laura, I feel amazing. Nearly below 300 lbs, unbelievable.
