Health Focused Monthly Mini’s

Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe

So, back at the beginning of August, I started a Health Focused Monthly Mini Project.

I called it ‘NFA8’, which was an acronym (nice word) for ‘No Food After 8pm’. Today is Day 29 of NFA8 and I can honestly say that, with the exception of two occasions, I have not eaten any food after 8pm. The odd evening meal stretched to 8.30pm, but, I don’t count them because they were my evening meal. By eating after 8pm, I’m talking snacking or extra meals and that has only happened twice. Beautiful!!!!

If I’m honest, this hasn’t been as hard as I thought it would be. There are other ‘denial projects’ that I think I would find a lot harder to accomplish.

Because I was able to carry this out relatively easily, I’ve decided to carry on past the 31st and make it a part of my lifestyle. Now, I know (as usual) opinion is divided with regard to this, however, I’m guessing if we are less active of an evening, it’s better for the body not to have to digest food, plus, as long as I am eating enough calories during the day, there is no need for extra calories later on. I’m pretty sure looking at it this way, it can only be a good thing, can’t it? Any thinking you have on this would be appreciated 🙂

Now though, I need another monthly mini for September. Ideas ladies and gentlemen please? I’ve got a couple of days before it’s time to begin so hit me with some options.

They can be denial projects or activity/inclusion projects eg eating/not eating, certain foods/drinks, doing/not doing certain activities.

One friend has already suggested only eating fruit before 12pm. The thinking is that your body has done digesting all the food from the day before by the morning and can immediately delve into all the goodness and nutrients in the fruit to build energy stores for the day. In the afternoon and evening, you eat as normal.

That’s one idea, I need more and as the black jack player said to the dealer, hit me!

    No diet sodas
    Drinking at least 64 oz of water per day

    No artificial sweeteners or diet drinks and most sugar free foods !!
    this stuff is real poison !
    and,,,,,,, it makes you HUNGRY !!!!
    use maple syrup, honey or even sugar ,if you must, for your sweet tooth ,, but remember to cut down it still has lots of cals !

  5. Uhm… not sure what you eat. Do you take sugar in your coffee/tea? How about cutting that out for a month? Switching from white bread, rice and pasta to brown?
    I should probably try some of these things myself 😉
